Should you happen to check out my LJ, you'll notice there's nothing in it. This is because I have one under my other ID, trypanocorax. That's where I do all my whingeing about the hardships of trying to be an illustrator and a fair amount of lovelorn sighing (alternating with lovelorn ranting on occasion). I started up this black_dalek thing because I was just so chuffed about the new Dr Who series and finding my old Dalek Annuals in the attic and then I found the daleks_reunited community (THANK YOU, grapefruitzzz) and it's been turning out to be such fun just to bounce up and down and be a fan and kick ideas and opinions around with other fans without any other baggage. It seems to be in the nature of me that I tend to carve up my own identity and try only to show a given facet in a given situation. Which must mean that at any one time I come across even more shallow and one-dimensional than I really am, if such a thing is possible. I think in this case it has a little to do with guilt because I'm supposed to be painting pictures of stag-beetles as part of my plan for world conquest and winning back the hand of the Divine One, instead of watching old Dr Who episodes and reading comic-strips, for god's sake! But these things are time well spent if they make you feel good, aren't they? I feel sort of stupid now for having split myself into pieces and I sort of half-wish LJ had a means for me to gather up my personas into one great whole (cue joke nicked from Red Dwarf). Or maybe I like things as they are. I don't know. Maybe I'll kep up the distinction for a while, but I'll make more of a point that each of my selves namechecks the other from time to time, so anyone who, for reasons best known to themselves, wants to know the full horror that is me will be able to do so without difficulty.
